International Technology Conference on the Protection of the Adriatic Sea and Sustainable Communal Waste Management in Cities along the Adriatic Coast

On 25th and 26th February 2019, Tehnix organized and held an International Technology Conference on the Protection of the Adriatic Sea and Sustainable Communal Waste Management in Cities along the Adriatic Coast.Encouraged by the global problem of waste management, climate changes and the national needs of the Republic of Croatia, Albania, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina along with the support of the President of the Republic of Croatia, Mrs. Kolinda Grabar Kitarović, company Tehnix organized and held this conference with the aim of protecting the Adriatic and achieving the circular economy as well as improvements in municipal waste management and bio-ecological water purification. The interest and response to the conference was great, and the special strength and significance was given by the participation of the President of the Croatian Committee for the Environment and Nature, Mr. Ivan Vilibor Sinčić, EU Parliamentary Representative, Mr. Tonino Picula, President of HATZ, .sc.prof. Vladimir Andročec, prof.dr.sc. Slaven Dobrović, Assistant Minister of the MGIPU, Mr. Danijel Žamboki and other experts in environmental protection, scientific institutions, representatives of cities and municipalities, businessmen, HBOR and Croatian waters. Professional presentations and a positive and high quality debate have resulted in a very good outcome of the conference and, finally, emphasized the key issues to be solved at a political and activist level. All the participants of the conference concluded that Croatia could and must upgrade the existing waste management system by applying domestic resources from all areas, scientific, project, and consulting industries, and above all to apply technologies proven in practice and from the domestic industry.The Tehnix company has been cooperating with communal companies and towns along the Adriatic coast – Tivat, Kotor, Herceg Novi, Budva for many years and it marked the beginning of cooperation with the cities of the Republic of Albania, which has been contaminating our Adriatic coast.
