Contract solemnly signed for the project Upgrading, improvement and equipping of a plant for recycling separately collected biowaste in which the technological process of composting in Herešin is carried out

Today, the company Tehnix d.o.o. in the premises of Komunalac d.o.o. solemnly signed the contract for the project KK.06.3.1.15.0006 Upgrading, improvement and equipping of the plant for recycling of separately collected biowaste in which the technological process of composting in Herešin is carried out.
The contract worth HRK 14.9 million with VAT was signed by Nataša Tetec, President of the Management Board of Komunalac, Goran Međurečan, Member of the Management Board of Komunalac and Đuro Horvat, Director of Tehnix d.o.o.
For the project Upgrading, improvement and equipping of the plant for recycling separately collected biowaste in which the technological process of composting is carried out in Herešin, a public procurement procedure was carried out on the basis of which the Decision on selection of the most favorable bid of Tehnix d.o.o. from Donji Kraljevec.
The mentioned project Upgrading, improvement and equipping of the plant for recycling of separately collected biowaste in which the technological process of composting in Herešin is carried out is implemented through the Operational Program “Competitiveness and Cohesion 2014-2020.” and is co-financed by a European Union grant. The contract will be implemented in accordance with the Grant Agreement for projects financed from EU funds in the financial period 2014-2020. (reference number of the Contract KK.06.3.1.15.0006) was signed between the City Utility Company Komunalac d.o.o. Koprivnica, as a beneficiary of funds, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development and the Fund for Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency.
The project started on November 4, 2019 and ends on January 4, 2022. The location where it will be held is Marovska Street in Herešin.
The project refers to the construction of two halls on the existing composting plant on an area of 4017m2, which will be used for receiving, processing and pre-treatment of biowaste and compost production. In one hall there will be a laboratory for monitoring the composting process itself, so that quality compost will be obtained in each process. Two collection pits for technical water will be installed, one in each hall, and water recirculation will be made for further watering.
In addition to the two halls, a covered part will be built where ready-made compost will be stored, a new packing room for bags of 10 to 50 kilograms, and a new sieve sieve, shredder, new loader for biodegradable waste handling will be purchased and another car wash.
The capacity of the plant is 9000 tons of biowaste per year.
The aim of the project is to reduce the amount of waste disposed of in landfills and increase the utilization of biowaste by composting, which are the goals set at the local, national and European level. The project in question also contributes to meeting the goals of the Waste Management Plan of the Republic of Croatia, which is set until 2022.
