Workshop II – Composting Today

In the company Tehnix, on 8th of October 2020, an expert Workshop II was held – composting today – presentation of the plant for bioreactor composting of biodegradable waste in a simulated environment
The company Tehnix in cooperation with the project partner Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology, University of Zagreb held the second workshop on composting and presented new technologies for biodegradable waste as part of the project for the development of a bioreactor composting plant for biodegradable waste.

The current practice of waste management in the Republic of Croatia must go in the recycling direction that gives the best results, and makes the system sustainable without negative impact on the environment and to reduce climate changes

The company Tehnix in cooperation with the project partner Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology, University of Zagreb held the second workshop on composting and presented new technologies for biodegradable waste as part of the project for the development of a bioreactor composting plant for biodegradable waste.

The presentation of the newly developed technology was held in a simulated environment. It is important to point out that the consulting team of the Croatian Academy of Technical Sciences also worked on the project. The aim of this workshop was to acquaint the participants with the process of bioreactor composting of biodegradable waste within 6 to 8 weeks and the possibilities and perspectives of this innovative and sustainable waste treatment process.

By recycling biodegradable waste to compost, as part of a circular economy that is environmentally friendly and economically viable, COMPOSTING has found its place in waste management. The workshop was intended for all who wanted to get answers to questions related to composting waste through expert lectures by well-known experts in this field, as well as through the practical part in a simulated environment with training in machine handling and bioreactor composting process.

The development of new technology in the company Tehnix enables fast and quality production of eco compost. It is a technological discovery developed at Tehnix. It took almost two years for the professional, operational and scientific team from the application of the EU project to the realization and presentation to potential users. It successfully presents complete technology, machines and equipment and technological processes that can achieve the production of quality compost in controlled conditions in 6-8 weeks, which is a great advantage of previously used technologies of 10-12 weeks without any guarantee of compost quality.

The best technology for the production of eco-compost for use in agricultural production has been developed. With the development of this project, Tehnix becomes a leader in the production of new technologies in waste management. Almost HRK 15 million was invested in the development of the bioreactor composting system, of which HRK 10 million was obtained through the Operational Program Competitiveness and Cohesion from the then Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts of the Republic of Croatia, and from EU funds as a development project.

Therefore, I am happy to have led a successful team of capable, motivating experts who, through a team, professional, administratively complex project, ensured and achieved the development of bioreactor composting technology. The entire project is patented and will serve the common good of the citizens and the Republic of Croatia as well as the world. The development of new technology enables a sustainable future. Now it is necessary to recycle the collected waste from the sorting plant, composting plant and thermal treatment of RDF fuel for use in cement and power plants.

  1. We have developed standard assembly halls with a capacity of 5, 10, 15, 20 thousand t/y.
  2. We have developed and produce standard shredders for the preparation of bio compost mass.
  3. We produce special bio-furrowers for automatic preparation of biomass.
  4. We have defined a mobile laboratory to control compost technology.
  5. We produce quality rotary sieves for dosing and sifting compost.
  6. We supply the optimal system for purification of produced compost.
  7. We supply a device for filling and weighing compost bags.
  8. We equip construction machines for biomass and compost handling.
  9. We determine and advise users for the optimal capacity of the plant.
  10. We make conceptual designs for public tenders of project beneficiaries.

 

The new draft Law on Waste Management of the Republic of Croatia and the European Union provides political, environmental and economic support for the construction of composting plants in which biocompost is produced for agriculture the fastest and with the highest quality. Such a model of bioreactor composting is a circular economy. MO-BO-TO technology is a system of standard factories in which waste is recycled according to use values and we get 8 types of raw materials, quality biocompost and at the end of industrial recycling we get baled RDF fuel. The Republic of Croatia is in the process of collecting and disposing of recycling yards.
